MyKoekie™ is a tribute to our mother, Dottie.
All recipes are Dottie’s handwritten recipes.

A TRIBUTE TO OUR MOM, DOTTIE

A pioneer who believed life should be shared with laughter (and maybe a little mischief). We decided to keep her legacy alive, one cookie box, one smile, one gooey center at a time.

From the first Drup Koekie™ to the cheeky Stoute Koekie™, we bake with passion, playfulness, and a pinch of mischief – with Dottie’s joy baked right into the heart of it all.

When we lost my mother, we began the quiet process of putting her affairs in order. In between the documents and files, we opened her old recipe books.

They were not neat, printed collections. They were handwritten. Notes in the margins. Corrections in different inks. Pages worn from years of use. And tucked between them, small pieces of paper she had carefully pasted in. Some of those notes came from her own mother.

RECIPES WITH SO MUCH HISTORY AND LOVE

In those pages we did not find recipes alone. We found history.
You could trace a line back almost a century. Methods passed down. Adjustments made by hand. Measurements written from memory. Practical baking wisdom shaped over decades.

That was the moment the idea sparked. We did not want those books to sit in a cupboard. We wanted them alive. So we began baking some of her methods and recipes into our cookies. Not as a gimmick. Not as a marketing line. As a continuation.

Every batch carries a thread of that history. The way ingredients are handled. The way texture is built. The patience in the process. These are lessons you do not learn from trends. You inherit them.

Later this year, we will publish a special recipe book featuring her original handwritten recipes. Not rewritten. Not modernised beyond recognition. Preserved with the character and authenticity they deserve. This is how we keep her legacy alive.

Through flour on hands. Through ink on paper. Through recipes that refuse to be forgotten.

You could say our cookies hold close to 100 years of legacy.
And we are not stopping there…
